Practice Tests

Another valuable study tool for candidates of a licensure or certification examination is a practice or predictor test.

A practice test conforms to the blueprint for the examination but is typically shorter in length. Items in a practice test can be items that have been used on previous administrations of the actual examination. It is designed to help a candidate gauge their readiness for the examination and to help focus their studying by identifying areas in which they are weak. These tests provide the candidate with their score and their probability of passing the examination. The scoring profile displays the candidate’s score in each of the competency categories so that the candidate can determine in which areas they are weak and need to focus their studying.
